Cook announced the launch of 30-95mm and 85-215mm Varotal/i T2.9 zoom lenses, the latest products in its growing full-frame series. They also updated the Panchro/i Classic series of lenses to full frame.

Two new Varotal/i FF zoom lenses brought cutting-edge modern design and materials to this long-established zoom lens series that debuted in 1971. The extensive Panchro/i Classic FF series provides the beloved retro Speed Panchro-looking frame sensor.

The new zoom lens supports a complete set of Cooke full-frame spherical lenses, while the Panchro/i Classic FF series meets the demand for full-frame classic appearance.

The Varotal/i T2.9 zoom lens covers all full-frame sensors and matches the Cooke S7/i series in terms of resolution, color and attenuation. The mount can be selected as PL or LPL when ordering.

These new products were introduced fifty years after the introduction of Cook's first Varotal lens.

Like all modern Cooke lenses, Varotal/i zoom lenses use /i technology to record valuable lens data and are optimized to capture warmth, texture and beautiful skin tones, which are the hallmarks of the famous Cooke Look. These lenses are designed for all shooting applications, including handheld and Steadicam, to provide a comfortable balance ratio for the latest digital cinema cameras.

The Panchro/i Classic FF series allows full-frame filmmakers to capture the classic Panchro Look and Cooke Look in their full-frame work. The 18mm, 21mm, 25mm, 27mm, 32mm, 40mm and 50mm focal lengths have been specially redesigned to fill the full-frame image circle. The 65mm MACRO, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm, and 152mm in the standard Panchro/i Classic series can already fill the full-frame image circle, so there are no optical or mechanical changes to these focal lengths. If there is a need to coordinate the rental fleet, additional FF scale covers for MACRO and above 65 mm can be provided.

The optics is designed to provide the best performance at full aperture and has excellent glare, distortion and spherical aberration control. Cooke's cam-style focusing movement and the additional benefit of a large lens barrel diameter can increase the number of focus marks, especially when focusing at close distances. Each focusing mark is individually calibrated and engraved on both sides of the focusing lens barrel.

The Varotal/i FF zoom lens and Panchro/i Classic FF series are now accepting pre-orders and will be available on Camerimage from November 13 to 20, 2021.
