Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be unveiled on August 10th, 2022, through a global launch event. These devices will succeed the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices, which were announced in August 2021.

Some reports have claimed that the South Korean company will be dropping “Z” from the monikers of its upcoming foldable devices. Hence, these devices are likely to be called the Galaxy Fold 4 and the Galaxy Flip 4. Here is a roundup of all the rumours surrounding the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on August 10th, 2022

The Galaxy Unpacked 2022 will be held at 6:30 pm on August 10th, 2022, in India. The event will be live streamed through Samsung’s social media channels, such as YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. At the same event, the company will be taking off covers from other products, such as the Galaxy Watch 5 series and the Galaxy Buds Pro 2.

Samsung is currently accepting pre-reservations for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in India. Those who pre-reserve the Z Fold 4 / Flip 4 before the launch event will get extra benefits worth Rs 5,000. To pre-reserve, customers need to spend Rs 1,999. Unfortunately, there is no information available on the price of any of the upcoming Galaxy products for the Indian market.

Popular tipster OnLeaks recently leaked the prices of the upcoming Galaxy devices for the European market. The 128GB and 256GB variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be priced at €1,109 and €1,169, respectively. The 256GB and 512GB editions of the Z Fold 4 will cost €1,799 and €1,919, respectively.

The Galaxy Watch 5 40mm Bluetooth-only variant will cost €299, and its 4G edition will be priced at €349. The Bluetooth-only and 4G variants of the Galaxy Watch 44mm will cost €329 and €379, respectively. The Watch 5 Pro 45mm Bluetooth-only and 4G editions will be priced at €469 and €499, respectively. The Z Fold 4 will carry the same price as in Europe. The Z Flip 4 and Watch 5 series, on the other hand, will be more expensive than their predecessor models.

These devices are rumoured to go on sale on August 26th, 2022, globally. But it’s not clear if these devices will also be for sale in India starting on the same date.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is said to measure 155 x 130 x 7.1mm, which means it will be slightly shorter and wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which has 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4mm dimensions. The device will feature a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-Flex display that offers an FHD+ resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, a 6:5 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and an improved under-display camera. The Z Fold 4 will have a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O cover display with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 23:9 aspect ratio.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will power the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The foldable smartphone will come with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB / 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device will come preinstalled with Android 12 OS, which will be overlaid with One UI 4.1. It will come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and carry support for the S Pen stylus.

The Galaxy Fold 4’s rear camera setup will have a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS support.  On the front, it will have a 10-megapixel snapper. The foldable phone will house a 4,400mAh battery with 25W rapid charging. It will also support 15W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. The Galaxy Fold 4 will arrive in colours like Black, Grey, and Beige.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be equipped with a 6.7-inch foldable FHD+ AMOLED display with a punch-hole design. With LTPO technology, the device will support a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. As far as the cover display of the Z Flip 4 is concerned, it is likely to measure above 2 inches.

The Galaxy Flip 4 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will house a 3,595mAh battery, which will support 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The device will run on Android 12 OS and One UI 4.1. It will feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

For selfies, it will feature a 10-megapixel front camera. The rear-facing horizontal camera setup will have a 12-megapixel primary snapper, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and an LED flash unit.

When unfolded, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will measure 165.1 x 71.9 x 7.2mm, which means it will be more compact than the Z Flip 3, which measures 166 x 72.2 x 6.9mm. Like its predecessor, the Z Flip 4 will continue to sport a dual design. Lastly, it will be made available in blue, graphite, pink gold, and Bora Purple shades.

A recent report by Winfuture.de revealed almost everything about the Watch 5 and the Watch 5 Pro. The Watch 5 will be made available in 40mm and 44mm sizes. It will feature a 1.19-inch AMOLED display with 396 x 396 pixels resolution. The 40mm version will come with a 284mAh battery, while the 44mm version will have a 410mAh battery.

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will be equipped with a 1.36-inch AMOLED screen that offers 450 x 450 pixels resolution. The Watch 5 Pro will house a 550mAh battery that can last for up to 80 hours once it is fully charged. It is likely to feature a 10-megapixel selfie snapper and a 12-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 12-megapixel (ultra-wide) dual-camera system.

Both watches will feature sapphire glass protection for the display, the Exynos W920 chip, 10W wireless charging, 16GB of storage, and WearOS with One UI.  The series will also offer other features like a heart-rate tracker, ECG, SpO2 tracker, GPS, and NFC. The LTE models will carry support for e-SIM.

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro will sport a design similar to the original Galaxy Buds Pro. As can be seen in the leaked render, it will sport a matte finish. The TWS earbuds will come with 10mm audio drivers and carry support for the new “Intelligence Active Noise Cancellation” feature, which can possibly block the loudest ambient noise. It will also offer other features, such as 360-degree audio, Bluetooth 5.2, 8 hours of battery life, up to 29 hours of battery runtime with the charging case, and IPX7 water resistance. It will be available in black, white, and purple.
