The upcoming Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has many fans of classic JRPGs at attention, but before that, developers Rabbit & Bear Studios are pushing a companion game in the form of Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. With more focus on action, it is paramount that players equip their party with the best equipment as well as build up the town sufficiently to support the adventures ahead, and this will require gathering all the resources. On that front, our guide for how to get all upgrade materials and what they are used for will definitely come in handy.

Aside from a few materials that can be grown or bought, the rest will need to be obtained by exploring the various dungeons and harvesting them from the environment or the enemies. They also come in different rarities, even if they are obtained from the same source.

Defeating the Yeti-like creatures found on Snowpeak and The Lava Ruins will see these resources dropped.

Rare crystals found in often-optional paths, they can also be rare drops from enemies.

Found in The Quarry, these bright crystals can be obtained by simply destroying them in the environment.

Only obtainable after you gain the Fishing Rod tool, the rarer fish will require more upgrades and some luck before you are able to get them via the fishing minigame.

Found on the floor of The Great Forest and Snowpeak, these items will also become available for purchase at the Farm later in the game.

A rare and huge blue crystal, one can be reliably found behind a Yeti mini-boss fight in the latter stages of Snowpeak.

Harvested from the trees found in The Great Forest, upgrading your tools and wearing the right accessories will allow the higher tier resources to drop.

Meat can only be obtained by using Traps at designated spots in dungeons, and upgraded traps have a higher chance of better quality meat being obtained.

Mined from rocks found in The Quarry, upgraded tools and the corresponding accessories will help in obtaining the rarer materials.

Mushrooms found in the various dungeons, just destroy them to get these materials to drop.

Similar to the ores, these materials can be found early on in The Great Forest, although the drop rate for the higher tier ones is lesser.

Extremely rare runic crystals, they can be found in limited amounts in the wild. You can also obtain them from the Trading Post or as extremely rare drops from the tougher enemies.

Usually found in hard-to-reach spots in treasure chests, exploring the dungeons fully will lead you to these treasures. Alternatively, you can exchange other rare materials for them at the Trading Post.

These will gradually become available at the Farm and Pasturage once you have upgraded them. Be sure to walk past the fields for some free drops as well.

Upgrade materials are essential whether you are using them to build the town out or to improve the offensive and defensive equipment available to the party. By gathering enough of these materials, you can head to the various vendors on Outlander Lane, Second Street, and the Rune Quarter to make full use of them.

Together with the required Baqua, the party’s weapons and armor can be upgraded to more advanced levels. The same goes for the tools required to get rarer resources, and of course, to further upgrade the various buildings that can open the way to even more benefits like stat-boosting meals or status-enhancing baths.
