Joe Burrow Rookie Card interest was high even before he played his first game for the Cincinnati Bengals. Being a Heisman-winning quarterback for a national champion will do that.

Burrow, the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has more than 35 Rookie Cards. This accounts for just base cards and not the hundreds of other inserts, parallels, autographs and memorabilia cards released in 2020 football products.

Entering his first pro season, Burrow was the most coveted player in a rookie class deep on quarterbacks. He was joined by Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts and Jordan Love, among others. However, a devastating knee injury in Week 11 ended his season early giving Herbert a chance to garner much of the spotlight.

A comeback sophomore season brought Burrow and his card back to the spotlight.

Like any modern marquee player, there’s a lot of variety when it comes to Joe Burrow Rookie Cards. Some can be found for a few dollars while some of his most valuable cards run thousands. For his top RC, it’s tens of thousands.

If you’re looking for the most valuable Joe Burrow Rookie Card, 2020 National Treasures is where you’ll find it. A jumbo patch and on-card autograph are housed on an elegant design. The print run of 99 copies for the base version is a big deal as well. However, just being part of National Treasures is one of its biggest pluses. The brand has a long and rich history at the top of the football card market.

In January, 2022, a pair of BGS 9 copies sold for $79,200 and $67,957 through Goldin. The following month, shortly before the Super Bowl, a Red Brand Logo went for $289,200 and a one-of-one Red NFL Shield netted $230,400, again through Goldin.

The 2020 Immaculate Collection Joe Burrow Rookie Card is similar in a lot of ways to National Treasures. It has 99 copies, a hard signature and patch, although a smaller swatch. The card is done with acetate, giving it a different look. Although definitely one of the premium lines in Panini’s portfolio, the prestige is quite as strong as National Treasure.

The one-of-one NFL Shield parallel sold for $534,000 on February 5, 2022.

It might not have a patch or even a plain white patch, but the 2020 Panini Contenders Joe Burrow Rookie Card does have an autograph. The set’s ticket theme is steeped in history, dating back two decades before the quarterback’s debut with the likes of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. The high price tag also comes despite not being serial numbered. The base version isn’t even among the set’s short prints.

With just 75 copies, this is one of the tougher Joe Burrow Rookie Cards to find. Like other RCs in 2020 Panini Impeccable Football, the card has two different swatches. The first is a standard patch. These second is a little different, coming from a helmet. Parallels offer up different memorabilia combinations.

With just 20 copies, 2020 Panini Flawless Football has the rarest Joe Burrow Rookie Card. There’s no signature or piece of memorabilia, but there is a gem embedded in it. Although it comes from one of Panini’s most expensive product’s, the scarcity is the major driver.

The print run of the 2020 Panini Encased Joe Burrow Rookie Card is roughly half that of National Treasures and Immaculate. Even once all the parallels are accounted for, there’s only a handful more as just the base totals for his most valuable RCs. Of course, this one is made a little differently. For starters, there’s not the brand history. The autograph in on-card but the memorabilia comes from a cap that doesn’t offer much in the way of colorful combinations or size. Still, this is one that collectors will likely have to jump on if they’re targeting it simply due to availability.

Joe Burrow actually has three different rookies in 2020 Panini Flawless Collegiate. All have the same general build highlighted by an autograph-patch combination. They also have the same print runs. Numbers 102 and 153 have the 2019 Heisman winning in his LSU threads while #151 is with Ohio State.

It’s hard to call something this pricey a bargain, but if you’re looking for a high-end Joe Burrow Rookie Card, 2020 Limited Football is a place to start. With 149 copies, it’s not among his toughest RCs, but it’s not plentiful other. There’s a hard signature and a standard-sized patch as well.

As always for the brand, Origins has a very distinct look. Although much of the set’s checklist is dedicated to rookie autographs, Burrow’s RC in the set also comes with an oversized patch piece. It’s not serial numbered and the signature comes on a sticker, which keeps the price down compared cards with a similar build.

The Contenders brand is a powerful one, even when it’s collegiate releases. No, Burrow’s RC here isn’t as valuable as its NFL counterpart. But it’s still an extremely strong sell. Between the many parallels and variations, finding the base version can be difficult to find.

Since its debut, Spectra has been a premium chromium release. That means a higher price point. It also means a higher quality construction. Burrow’s RC also has some interesting parallels that go beyond standard colors. In addition to his standard Rookie Card, Joe Burrow also has a Rookie Patch Autograph in the 2020 Panini Spectra base set.

There’s a level of elegance to Burrow’s 2021 Panini Gold Standard RC. A lot of that comes from the holo foil stock. The tinted design also helps. The big draw here is the print run of just 99 copies. The quarterback also has separate autographed single, dual and triple memorabilia cards in the base set. But because this one is the most common and “basic,” it gets the RC tag.

If one word could describe Burrow’s 2020 Panini Black base card, it’d be ‘sleek.’ Cast on a colorless backdrop, Burrow and the Bengals logo pop, making for a standout base card design. Although not serial numbered, this card is a tough pull. Base cards are just one per hobby box. With 200 players, that’s a lot of boxes just to find one.

The 2020 Panini Elements Joe Burrow Rookie Card is unique in that it’s printed on metal. Yes, the card itself is magnetic. Adding to that, there’s the fact that it has just 79 copies. Instead of colors, parallels get their names and matching print runs from different elements. Cards come with a protective film on top to help prevent scratching.

The Certified brand has a lengthy history in football. A couple of things stand out for Burrow’s 2020 RC. First, it’s foil. That’s not a huge thing, but it does give a distinct look. From a value standpoint, the bigger piece is the print run of 399 copies. Burrow also has a Freshman Fabrics Signatures autographed patch card in the base set that’s numbered to 199.

I would also add the Upper Deck Exquisite RPA somewhere in the top 3. Perhaps even the top spot.

It’s not a Rookie Card in the sense that it’s not in a football set. Great card but doesn’t meet the criteria.
